Too many projects, not enough time... it always seems so true, but the fact is, there’s plenty of time. Sometimes we just don’t use it well, that’s all. After a long break of almost half a year, hopefully you can find some new blogs and pics of my current projects in the near future. The shop will remain empty for a while, there’s too many other things on my mind currently.

No more holding up skeins, no more winding by hand. What a luxury.
When I came home, it was late, so I put them on my desk, and I must admit I kind of forgot about them. All this time they were right in front of me, but I created some sort of blind spot I guess.
Until this afternoon, my daughter asked me “Mum, what’s this! - Ah, that’s a skein holder - And that? - That’s a ball winder - What are they for?” So I decided to show her. And finally I used my ball winder and skein holder. What a wonderful toy! Saves a lot of time as well.
In the picture you can see I used a skein of sock yarn, dyed by Storm in the Attic, called Delfts Blauw (Delft Blue). It has beautiful white and blue tones. I bought it at Wolhalla, but it was a one time limited edition, so bad luck for you: they don’t have it anymore!
Unfortunately I have to finish two other pairs of socks before I can start knitting with it. I HAVE to? Gosh, it sounds like work when I say it like this. Of course it’s not work at all. I’m just eager to start a new project, that’s always more fun than finishing an old one!

On the 13th of December there’s a sock knitting workshop by the Dutch Knitters that I enrolled myself for. But, unfortunately, today I got an email with the date of the Christmas play my daughter will play in. You might have guessed: also on the 13th of December. Of course I cannot skip that Christmas play with my 5 y.o. daughter in it, so, disappointed as I was, I called to cancel my workshop.
Luckily I had to wait for the lady in the shop to be finished with her customer. In the mean time, I looked at the other workshops, also by the Dutch Knitters. So instead of canceling my workshop, I decided to change the workshop to another one: Estonian Lace. To be honest, I never knitted lace before, but I love the looks of it. And since there’s a lot of “nothing” in lace (the holes between the yarn), it might be faster than regular knitting, and yet more fun to do. At least I hope so! Another good thing about this workshop: I don’t have to wait so long before it starts.

Weird, it feels like a relief. All the items in my shop are sold or expired. A great way to make a new start. Lots of fabric, ribbons, embroidery designs, yarn, patterns are waiting to be crafted into new creations.
